Sfeir: Attacking the Muslims means attacking Christians

Deputy Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament Elie Farizli has quoted the Lebanese Maronite Patriarch Nasrullah Sfeir as saying that any aggression against Muslims in this " Orient" is an aggression against Christians. Al- Farizli also quoted Sfeir as saying during meeting with him on Thursday " we, as Christians in this Orient are not a community existed on the land of the Orient, rather we are the heart of this Orient. Its problems are ours and any attack on it is an attack on Christianity before being an attack against Islam."

Sfeir added during the meeting:" Therefore conditions should be resettled concerning the American and European positions to prevent a clash between two cultures, two civilizations and two religions, namely Christianity and Islam.

Al-Farizli continued in a statement on Thursday to the Lebanese radio that Patriarch Sfeir explained that the victims who were killed in the attacks are rejected exactly the same for the victims who were killed because of the continued Israeli aggressions against innocent and unarmed people in Palestine.
