US events will not affect French tourists inflow into Egypt
Egypt-France, Economics, 9/20/2001

A group of French chairmen of travel agencies underlined that recent events in the US had no effect on French tourists inflow into Egypt.

At a meeting held with Egyptian Tourism Minister Mamdouh El Beltagui, a group working in the field of diving tourism referred to a few cancellations that were likely due to personal reasons.

Beltagui got acquainted with remarks of the group within the Egyptian Tourism Ministry's plan to increase numbers of French tourists visiting Egypt.

Members of the group called for increasing EgyptAir flights between the two countries.

Beltagui, who is on a visit to France to participate in Deauville Tourism Bourse, disclosed that a new port will be opened in Mersa Alam on the Red Sea on October 2.

He promised to examine all the French remarks and reply to them before he winds up his visit to France on Friday.
