Maher contacts Arab, European officials on hot current issues

Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher said that he had contacts with foreign ministers of Syria, Lebanon and Libya. Maher received a call from European peace envoy Miguel Moratinos.
The contacts tackled the repercussions of the terrorist attacks on USA and the developments in Middle East peace process.
Maher told reporters that he told US ambassador to Egypt David Welch during their meeting in the Foreign Ministry premises that every country should shoulder its reponsiblity in combatting terrorism.
On the regional arena, Maher called on Israel to adhere to the ceasefire agreement with the Palestinians. This can be a step forward on the road to return to the peace dialogue.
Meantime, Maher said that the interviews President Hosni Mubarak gave to international TV channels and press reflect the international interest in getting acquainted with Egypt's views on the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington.
