US sends 100 warplanes to the Middle East
Regional-USA, Politics, 9/20/2001

Military officials announced that the US defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld on Wednesday gave his instructions that more 100 warplanes to move towards the Middle East following the attacks against the US on September 11.

News reports said that these officials who asked not to be identified abstained from mentioning the direction of these planes, rather indicated that these planes will head to bases in the Middle East or near it and that these planes are expected to be deployed as from today, Thursday.

For his part, the US under secretary of state announced on Wednesday evening in Washington that the US armed forces started to move with the aim of taking part in fighting terrorism.

The American official added that there are moves, noting that he hopes the world, including the American people will understand why we do not want to disclose details of these moves.
