A Yemeni proposal to convene an Arab summit

The Saudi daily al-Watan said in its Wednesday's issue that President Bashar al-Assad discussed on Tuesday with the Saudi King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz and with the crown prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz a Yemeni proposal calling for convening an extraordinary Arab summit to review developments pertinent to the recent attacks against the US and the escalations of the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, noting that this summit has to be preceded by a meeting for the Arab foreign ministers.
The paper quoted sources, that did not disclose its nature,as saying that the two countries have underlined the importance of making more consultation with other Arab states to this effect during the few coming days, noting that the two leaderships have agreed the importance of challenging those who commit terrorism in the framework of international legitimacy institutions and to work to sending international forces to protect the Palestinian people and support the Intifada.
