Spain considers boosting investments in Egypt
Egypt-Spain, Economics, 9/19/2001

Egypt's ambassador in Spain Hussein Haridi said Prime Minister of Catalonia province, the third important figure in Spain after the Spanish Premier, will lead a delegation in a visit to Egypt next February to attend Expo Fair which showcases the products of about 100 Spanish companies, and hold talks with Egyptian officials for boosting Spanish investments in Egypt.

The Prime Minister is expected to hold a dialogue with Egyptian intellectuals and journalists on the Euro-Mediterranean Cooperation.

The ambassador regretted some Egyptian authorities' carelessness in dealing with Spain which assumes the next chairmanship of the European Union.

"We have to change the viewpoint that Spain is only the land of bull fighting and football despite it ranked sixth among the leading investor countries worldwide and produced the Rolls Royce engine for aircraft as well as it contributed to manufacturing Ariene rocket which carried the Egyptian Satellite to outer space," he added.
