Japan hails IT, communications industries in Egypt

"Japan hailed the positive developments witnessed by Information Technology (IT) and communications market in Egypt," said Egypt's ambassador to Japan Mahmoud Karem.
Karem stressed the importance of the recent visit by Minister of Communications Ahmad Nazif to Japan, where he held expanded meetings with heads of major Japanese companies working in the field of IT, communications and cellular phones.
"Nazif discussed in Japan the investment opportunities in the Egyptian markets and the government's sustaining of Japanese companies that produce export-oriented goods in Egypt," said Karem.
The Japanese side showed great interest in cooperation with Egypt in the third generation of mobile phone networks technology.
Nazif visited Japan on September 13-14 to participate in the third world conference on e-commerce, which was attended by Philippine President, senior Japanese officials and 300 representatives of major world institutions in the IT field.
