Lahoud: Israel is a school in terrorism
Lebanon-Israel, Politics, 9/18/2001
The Lebanese President Emil Lahoud has condemned the terrorist acts by all its kind and called for the need to make a distinction between these acts of terrorism and resistance which aims at liberating the lands from occupation.
During his meeting with a delegation representing the Arab- Italian friendship society and the political forces and parties in Italy and in the European parliament and chief editors of several Italian magazines and dailies on Monday in Beirut, the Lebanese President called on not mixing between the two matters, especially as resisting the occupation is legalized by the international community through out history until the present time.
President lahoud also stressed that the deliberate aggressive and terrorist policy of Israel against the Palestinians and the Arabs is leading to regional and international instability.
The Lebanese President noted a role that Europe can play to contribute to solving the Arab- Israeli conflict. He explained that the Palestinian Intifada has contributed to maintaining Arab unity and warned that the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon will invest the atmospheres prevailing in the world after the attacks against New York and Washington in order to escalate the situation in the region.
Worthy mentioning that the Italian delegation is visiting Lebanon to voice solidarity with the Palestinian and the Lebanese people in the 19th anniversary of the Sabra and Shatilla massacres which were committed by Israel against the innocent civilians during Israel's invasion of Lebanon in 1982 at the directive orders of Sharon who was then Israel's defense minister. These massacres claimed the life of thousands of Palestinians and Lebanese at the sight of the world.
