Fears of converting US anti- terrorism campaign into a campaign fighting Palestinian resistance organizations

Well-informed sources in Damascus have warned in a statement to the London- based al-Hayat daily in its Monday's issue against the possibility of converting the US campaign against terrorism into a campaign to fight the Palestinian resistance organizations.

The said sources indicated that most of the organizations put by Washington and London on the terrorist organizations list are the organizations which carry out legitimate resistance operations against the israeli occupation.

The sources explained that Syria was among the first countries which suffered from terrorism between 1977- 1986 by the terrorist attacks carried out by Muslim brothers groups, at the support of a neighboring state and another state in favor of Washington which at that time did not make any move because " it had intended to pressure Syria." The sources indicated that the US was the one which gave support to the Islamic organizations in Afghanistan against the former Soviet Union. A matter which resulted in generating more terrorism organizations from which several world states are suffering.
