Ferdan, Suez Canal bridges open next October

Egyptian Minister of Transport Ibrahim El Demiri paid an inspection visit to the new Ferdan Railway Bridge and the Suez Canal suspension bridge.
The Minister witnessed a trial opening and closing of the LE 360 million railway bridge, and inspected work on the auto suspension bridge.
The two bridges, which occupy the site of a bridge destroyed during the 1967 war, will be officially inaugurated during the 6th of October celebrations next month.
The LE 670 million bridge was funded in part with a Japanese grant of LE 400 million.
The bridge is nine kilometers long, 20 metres wide and 70 metres high.
