Powell expresses gratitude for al-Assad's commiseration over terrorist attacks victims

The Syrian Foreign Farouk al-Shara on Friday evening received a telephone call from the US secretary of State Colin Powell. Powel expressed his country's gratitude over the cable of commiseration sent by President Bashar al-Assad to the US President George Bush and the feelings of sympathy it expresses with the American people concerning the terrorist attacks.
Al-Shara renewed Syria's position towards terrorism and condemning the destructive attacks against Washington and New York, expressing sympathy with the families of the victims.
