Saudi Arabia-USA, Politics, 9/15/2001
The Saudi embassy in Washington has denied arresting or accusing any of the Saudi nationals in or outside the USA following the explosions that took place in America on Tuesday.
In its Friday's issue, the Saudi daily Okaz quoted the director of the Saudi ambassador office in Washington as saying that what was quoted by news agencies on arresting or accusing Saudis is groundless and that the embassy has not officially received what indicates so. He explained that measures taken by the American authorities with Saudis were only limited to normal investigations in such circumstances and that the Saudis were exposed to this measure were released.
The Saudi diplomat refuted what was quoted by the news agencies on that Saudis from Bukhara family were on the board of one of the exploded planes, noting that this is not true and there are no Saudi victims because of the explosions, adding that only one person named " Omar Bukhara" was questioned, and he was not arrested nor accused.
