The Moroccan government denounces attacks against USA
Morocco-USA, Politics, 9/14/2001

The Moroccan government on Thursday condemned the terrorist acts perpetrated Tuesday against US political and economic institutions.

In a statement to the press at the end of a government council, held Thursday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Abderrahmane Youssoufi, culture and communication minister, Mohamed Achaari, said the council expressed in the beginning of its works condemnation of the terrorist acts, which targeted US political and economic institutions and which claimed a large number of innocent victims.

The council noted with pride the standpoint expressed by King Mohammed VI in the message he sent to President George W. Bush following the tragedy, wherein the sovereign voiced Morocco's heartfelt condolences and utter solidarity with the American people and condemnation of these barbarous and odious acts, the minister said.

The Kingdom of Morocco, which renews, through the voice of King Mohammed VI, sincere feelings of solidarity and sympathy for the American people and government, stresses to all citizens, in accordance with the orientations of King Mohammed VI, the need to carry on the normal course of all activities with confidence and serenity, expressing deep conviction that the powers of good and peace will continue working, with determination and optimism, for the advent of a peaceful world despite the painful events and the barbarous acts that claim innocent lives.
