American embassies reopen in Damascus, Amman

The American embassy in Damascus announced reopening its doors on Thursday after a one- day closure following the aggressions against the US on Tuesday.

The embassy said in a statement that:" we have closed the embassy on Wednesday in order to re-evaluate our security measures and we will today ( Thursday) resume our activities naturally." On Tuesday, the Syrian police made a security belt around the embassy and the police cars stationed in its surrounding and one policeman was deployed at every five meters on the pavement.

Also on Thursday, the American embassy in Amman resumed full activities after it had on Wednesday stopped its consulate and non- basic services.

A spokesman for the embassy said on Thursday that the embassy is open today ( Thursday) for all activities. Meantime, security reinforcement are still deployed in the surrounding of the American embassy situated to the west of Amman.
