The foundation of the first Arab company for E- commerce
Regional, Economics, 9/14/2001
The representatives of the Arab states taking part in the plenary session of the Arab Economic unity council have signed the foundation of the first Arab Electronic Commerce ( E- Commerce ) trade and discussed an agreement to set up the Arab academy for electronic works.
The secretary general of the Arab Economic unity council Ahmad Jweili said that Lebanon has informed the council its consent as well as the consent of the Arab ministers of commerce and industry on an Arab draft agreement to establish the Arab academy for electronic works, and proposed Beirut to be the main headquarters for the said academy.
Jweili stressed that the main challenge facing the introduction of the E- commerce in the Arab region is the non-availability of specialized cadres in all fields connected to electronic activities.
