Moussa calls on Washington to change pro-Israel policy
Regional-USA, Politics, 9/12/2001
Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa called on the United States to change it's biased policy towards Israel, if it wanted to rescue the Middle East region from a real danger.
In a word at the Arab financial forum organized by Euromony institution, Moussa warned against the continuation of the U.S. policy which would affect the U.S. interests in the region.
Forum is attended by hundreds of officials, businessmen, and economic experts from Egypt, Arab states, the European Union and the United States.
Moussa said the Palestinian Intifada will not be quelled and the armed force will not compel the Palestinians to accept the Israeli version of peace in the region.
The Palestinian resistance will continue as long as the occupation exists, added the Arab League chief.
He regretted the stances of the international community towards incidents in the Palestinian territories, adding that the international community did not adopt attitudes consistent with human rights, hopes to achieve peace and stability at a time when Israel was going ahead with its plans to destroy the peace process.
Moussa said that the US stance gave the green light to Sharon's government to continue its policy of assassinating Palestinians.
