Sudanese ruling party to convene general congress on October 17

The National Congress party in Sudan has decided to convene its general conference on October 17th with the participation of 6,000 members and the presence of delegations representing Arab and friendly countries and the representatives of international and regional organizations. This conference will last for three days.

In a statement to the Saudi daily al-Anbaa on Tuesday the deputy secretary of the organizational liaison department at the national congress Khalil Abdullah said that the conference will elect a Shoura council and through which a new secretary general will be elected for four years.

He added that 75% of members of the congress are coming from the Sudanese states, including 4500 members from various Sudanese provinces and 1500 members from other sectors.
