Libya denies attempts to own long- range missiles technology

A Libyan official on Sunday denied his country's any made attempt to obtain the long- range missiles technology.
The statement of the Libyan official came in reply to the answer submitted by the director of the CIA George Tenet to the US congress to this effect.
Hasounah al-Shawish, the assistant secretary for media and culture at the Libyan people's committee for foreign contacts and international co-operation ( the Libyan foreign ministry) said on Sunday that what was mentioned in that report to this end were " mainly baseless claims."
Al-Shawish described involving Libya's name as " an old tradition and habit used to be made by the US to cover its conspiracies against the Libyan people." He questioned while all this big fuss about an Arab state which does not have this weapons, while keeping silence towards Israel which owns an arsenal of nuclear and atomic missiles by which it threatens the world's security."
