Some 8 Iraqis killed, three wounded in American, British raids

The Iraqi news agency said on Monday that some 8 persons were killed and other three wounded in raids carried out by American and British planes on south Iraq on Sunday.

The agency added that the American and British planes fired in its attacks at al-Saleheyah area, situated in al- Nu'maneyah district of Waset province, 170 Km to the south of Baghdad three missiles and cluster bombs and this resulted in killing 8 citizens and wounding other three and in the destruction of the palm trees farms in the area.

The agency stressed quoting eye- witnesses that the killed and wounded persons were surprised by the attack launched by the US and British warplanes at the said area.
