Hamas refuses any political settlement, contacts with Israel

The founder of the Hamas movement, Sheikh Ahmad Yassin has stressed his rejection, together with his government to any political settlement or contacts with Israel.
In a statement on the telephone with the Jordanian weekly al-Hadath ( the event) commenting on the expected meeting between Yasser Arafat and Shimon Peres, Sheikh Ahmad Yassin said that Sharon and his government are trying to deceive the world public opinion and showing off that the Israelis seek peace, stressing that the Palestinian Intifada will not be halted only through the establishment of the Palestinian state with Jerusalem as a capital.
