Municipal elections started on Sunday in the liberated towns and villages in South Lebanon in an atmosphere of democratic competition. The current election operations include the election of 54 municipal councils and 169 Mukhtar ( local mayor). Go

Official Syrian source said that each of the following Syrians were arrested because they had committed acts they have to be tried for by the law. These persons will be brought before the specialized court to reconsider their conditions and take due judicial measures concerning them. The Israeli defense minister Benjamin Bin Aleazer will head for Washington tomorrow in a visit to the US that lasts for four days, according to the Israeli radio. The radio added that Bin Aleazer will be meeting with the US vice- President, his advisor for national security and the US secretary of state and the defense secretary and discuss with them the developments of conditions in the Palestinian territories and Israel's requests for American weapons.
