Israel fails to deal with Aqsa Intifada
Egypt-Israel, Politics, 9/10/2001
Israel has completely failed to deal with the Al-Aqsa Intifada, said Osama Al-Baz, Presidential Political Advisor, in an interview with the "Red Shadow" TV program Sunday.
Baz said that the Intifada is a demonstration of protest against the continuation of the Israeli occupation.
"The Palestinian people have international agreements supporting and backing their right to end this occupation," he said.
"Israel imposed war on the Palestinian people and inflicted certain losses and casualties on them but they emerged stronger and more determined to stand up to Israel," Baz said.
"Israeli warplanes no longer scare even Palestinian children," he pointed out.
Baz anticipated final status negotiations to be resumed, under a specific timetable, no later than the beginning of next year.
Baz underlined that neither Israel nor any other country can pose a military threat to Egypt because they know the strength of the Egyptian army.
