Yemeni refugees return back to their country
Yemen-Syria, Politics, 9/10/2001
The Qatari daily al-Rayah issued on Saturday said that Yemeni military men who were asylum seekers in Syria will return back very soon to their country in response to the initiative proposed by the Yemeni leadership and its welcome to the return back of all military men who left Yemen following the war of the Summer of 1994 to re- separate the two parts of Yemen. The attempts was a complete failure.
The paper quoted Yemeni political sources as saying that the arrangements for the return back of those military men are being made to benefit from the General Amnesty which was issued earlier by the Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh on the peak of defending unity between the two parts of Yemen during the said war.
Worthy mentioning that a group of Yemeni journalists who used to live in Damascus and Cairo since 1994 left back for Yemen making use of the Amnesty general decision and the initiative of the Yemeni President in which he welcomed the return back of all members and cadres of the Yemeni Socialist Party, one of the two sides of the war, who left Yemen after the cessation attempt and establishing the united state of Yemen.
