Egyptian American sides study findings of tests on Boeing 767 plane tests
Egypt-USA, Local, 9/8/2001
A series of technical tests on a Boeing 767 plane have been finalized to find out whether a mechanical snag could have caused the crash of an EgyptAir passenger plane off the U.S. east coast in 1999.
A spokesman for the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board NTSB told MENA that the Egyptian and American sides were currently studying the results of tests carried out over the past few days at the Seattle-based headquarters of Boeing company manufacturing this type of plane.
The spokesman declined to reveal exactly what the tests have led to and would not say whether the results would affect the course of investigations into the crash of EgyptAir flight 900.
The Egyptian side wants to know whether a technical problem could have been responsible for the fall of the EgyptAir plane, as it strongly believes.
