Demonstrations of anger in Kenya in solidarity with the Palestinians, their Intifada
Palestine-Kenya, Politics, 9/8/2001

Thousands of Kenyans demonstrated on Friday in Nairobi and Mombassa port in solidarity with the Palestinians, victims of the repression " of both Israel and the US."

The chairman of the Kenyan Imam council Sheikh Ali Shee announced that the whole world calls for the establishment of peace in Palestine" but the US and Israel are committing crimes against Muslims by their aligned policies." The demonstrators burnt American and Israeli flags, chanting slogans saying " Allah Akbar " ( God is great).

In Nairobi the demonstrators raised banners in which they wrote " the Intifada is international" " liberate Palestine today" and headed towards the Israeli embassy where they repeated anti- Israeli slogans.

The demonstrators stopped at the Kenyan Presidency headquarters and called for cutting diplomatic relations with Israel.
