Moroccan democratic bloc calls security council to end Palestinian people genocide
Morocco-Palestine, Politics, 9/7/2001
The parties forming the Moroccan democratic bloc (Koutla) on Friday called the United Nations Security Council to intervene and put an end to the genocide perpetrated by Israel against the unarmed Palestinian people.
In a call published by the bloc's newspapers, the parties urged the council to guarantee an international protection to the Palestinian people.
The democratic bloc musters the Socialist Union of Popular Forces (USFP, of Prime Minister Abderrahmane Youssoufi), the Istiqlal Party (PI), the Party for Progress and socialism (PPS) and the Organization for Democratic and Popular action (OADP). All parties except OADP are represented in the Moroccan socialist-led coalition government.
The council, in its capacity as responsible for security in the world, should intervene to put an end to the blatant injustice befalling the Palestinian people, the bloc said, describing the Israeli regime as a "totalitarian" one.
The paramount priority now is to avoid the genocide of the Palestinian people in an inequal confrontation banned by all divine laws and humanitarian principles.
