Lebanon calls for halting the Israeli violations

The Lebanese foreign minister Mahmoud Hammoud on Thursday called on the UN to stop the Israeli provocative violations of the Lebanese sovereignty.
In a statement he made in Beirut on Thursday with the commander of UNIFIL commander ( UN forces working in Lebanon), Hammoud stressed that the UN and major world states oppose the Israeli violations.
Meantime, the commander of the UNIFIL forces is making all efforts to carry out assigned tasks, showing desire to establish best relations of co-operation and co-ordination with the Lebanese authorities concerning UNIFIL.
On the other hand, the Lebanese prime minister Rafik al- hariri stressed cohesion of the Syrian and Lebanese tracks especially in regard with the question of the conflict with Israel.
Upon presiding over a meeting for the Lebanese cabinet on Thursday, al-Hariri said that the war launched by Israel against the Palestinians threatens peace and stability in the region, adding that the consequences of such a war necessitate cohesion between the Syrian and Lebanese tracks and deepening the continued confidence between the two countries.
During this meeting, the Lebanese government approved starting implementation of the gas agreement project between the Lebanese ministry of energy and waters and the Syrian oil company. This was declared by the Lebanese minister of information Ghazi al-Aridi in a statement to the press on Thursday evening following the end of he Cabinet's session.
