ADC preparing public information campaign on behalf of Palestinians
Palestine-USA, Politics, 9/6/2001
The American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC), by far the largest and most effective Arab-American organization in the United States, is preparing to launch a major public information campaign designed to humanize the image of the Palestinian people with the American public and to foster sensitivity to the need of the Palestinians to live in freedom and dignity in their own country, an ADC release said.
The campaign will include a series of national television advertisements, among other elements, to break a silence that lasted for 50 years.
The first step in this effort was the survey of public opinion ADC conducted a few weeks ago, and released last week.
The survey results detail the challenge still facing the Arab-American community to convey the full humanity and plight of the Palestinians to the American public.
ADC is the largest Arab-American grassroots organization in the United States. It was founded in 1980 by former Senator James Abourezk.
