Sharon confers with Putin in Moscow

The Russian President Vladimir Putin has stressed that Russia's traditional relations between the Israelis and the Palestinians are good and that such a relations avails his country to contribute to finding out a solution to causes of the region. Upon inaugurating his talks with the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon on Tuesday, the Russian President expressed concern over the continued violence in the occupied Palestinian territories.

He described Russia's relations with Israel as good and developing continuously, especially in the economic and political fields, stressing the need of finding out a political solution to the Middle east issues and to give up terrorism.

For his part, Sharon noted the need of fostering Israel's relations with Russia, especially in economic, cultural and technological fields, calling on the Russian businessmen to invest in the realm of technology in Israel.
