Iraqi chief of parliament confers with Finnish foreign minister

Speaker of the Iraqi parliament Sadoun Hammadi on Monday in Baghdad reviewed to the Finnish parliamentary delegation, currently visiting Iraq the negative consequences of the continued sanctions imposed on Iraq since 1990, despite the fact that Iraq has implemented all its obligations relating to the resolutions of the UN Security Council.
An Iraqi source said that Hammadi stressed his country's desire to restore back relations between the two countries as were before, in the service of the interests of the two peoples.
The Finnish delegation, chaired by the deputy speaker of the Finnish parliament welcomed every plan to develop relations between Finland and Iraq.
A Finnish trade delegation had visited Baghdad in march this year and discussed the possibility of the contribution of the Finnish trade companies to industrial projects in Iraq.
