The National Landmines Committee held a meeting yesterday under Minister of planning and International cooperation, Ahmed Al Darsh. The meeting tackled a strategic plan to turn the North Coast area into a tourist attraction. The plan aims at increasing the agricultural, industrial and tourist potential of the North coast to attract population. The area will be linked to Alexandria and Bahaira to increase the exports.
Darsh said that a number of German companies as well as others have presented offers to remove the mines from the North Coast area. The offers were referred to a technical committee for consideration.
