Libyan people's conference voices ultimate support for the Palestinian Intifada

The Libyan people's general conference has renewed unlimited support to both Syria and Lebanon's steadfastness in confrontation of the Israeli aggression and denounced the attempts of provocation directed against the two Arab states.

In a statement issued on Sunday in conclusion of its session the conference commended the Palestinian Intifada "against the Israeli war of extermination, and voices the support of the Libyan people to the Intifada."

The conference said that "the Arab official positions do not comply with the volume of the fierce attack and the organized terrorism campaign launched by the Israelis against the Palestinian people."

The conference condemned the daily US and British violations of the Iraqi sovereignty and called on the Arab states and the peace loving countries to practically halt the sanctions imposed on Iraq and to resume air flights to Iraq and to provide aids to the Iraqi people.

The conference, in its statement, stressed the importance of reactivating the Arab Maghreb federation and revitalize its institutions, so as to be able to cooperate with the Arab Maghreb federation and the European states of the West Mediterranean, noting that the current dialogue between Libya and each of the US and Britain is the right way to establish just and on footing relations.

The conference also issued several decisions that define the internal and external policies especially selecting a new very important people's committee.
