Saudi Arabia, Politics, 9/3/2001

Saud Arabia's King Fahd on Friday exempted in a decree the chairman of the Saudi intelligence prince Turkey al-Faisal who has been assuming this post since several years from his post.

According to the new royal decree, which was quoted by the Saudi news agency, prince Turkey was exempted from this post " at his own request " and that prince Nawaf Bin Abdul Aziz, brother of King Fahd and former minister of the Interior was appointed as his (Nawaf ) successor as chairman for the general intelligence.

So far, no other information was given about this change which has come following a series of aggressions by explosions targeted westerners in Saudi Arabia and clashes at the Saudi- Iraqi borders resulted in killing at least two ( one Saudi and one Iraqi).
