Inter- Arab trade via Internet estimated at $ 150 million

The Arab economic unity council has estimated the volume of inter- Arab trade exchange through the "Internet" ( Electronic Commerce ) at $ 150 million. A rate which is estimated at $ 74 billion all over the world.
In a study about the E-Commerce in the region, the council noted that the trade via the " Internet" has become the key inter-Arab exports and trade exchange.
The council stressed the need of Arab states rapid joining to the field of E- commerce. It explained that the Internet will play a key role in this trade and will be a means to guarantee carrying out all economic works including negotiations, planning deals, selling, buying, marketing, studies and researches, exchanging stock-markets and facilitating the flow of sums.
The study stressed that the Arab world can be involved in various economic fields by the E- commerce.
The study calls on Arab banks whose number exceeds 360 banks to take the initiative and use this sort of trade in an attempt to increase inter-Arab trade which has not exceeded $ 30 billion per year as well as the volume on exchanged Arab investments which is $ 3 billion a year.
