Syria to release Palestinian detainees

A Palestinian source resides in Amman and who took part in the Palestinian talks in Damascus expected that the Syrian authorities will release a new shift of Palestinian and Arab detainees in the Syrian Jails and this will be prior to the visit of Yasser Arafat to Damascus, according to the Jordanian weekly Sheihan in its recent issue. the paper added that there are some 650 Palestinian prisoners in the Syrian jails.
The weekly added that Mahmoud Abbas ( Abu Mazen) handed recently during his visit to Damascus a list including the names and places where these detainees are held.
