A new secretary for the people's front for liberation of Palestine
Palestine, Politics, 8/31/2001

In a statement to the Lebanese daily al-Nahar issued on Thursday, Dr George Habash said that he ultimately does not think of returning back to the post of the secretary general of the People's Front for the Liberation of Palestine after the assassination of its secretary general Abu Ali Mustafa on Monday.

In statements he made and quoted on his behalf by member of the front's central committee and director of its office in Amman Suheil Khouri, He said that the front will be very soon able to elect a new secretary general, smoothly because times of splits has gone.

Habash ruled out the occurrence of divisions in the leading lines of the front, saying that the decision of choosing the next secretary general of the front will be taken in full democracy.
