Eight Moroccans injured in Spanish plane crash
Morocco-Spain, Local, 8/30/2001

Eight Moroccan nationals were injured when a Spanish plane crash-landed on a highway as it was approaching Malaga airport Wednesday morning.

Seven of these injured Moroccans, who are all from north-eastern Morocco, left hospital after they received medical attendance in a Malaga hospital. Jamal Selan, 26, is still hospitalized but medical sources said he is off the danger list.

Four people died, including the plane's pilot, and twenty-six were injured when the turbo-prop plane operated by regional airline Binter Mediterraneo came down on the road.

The plane, which was full with 44 passengers and three crew on board, was approaching the airport from Melillia, a Moroccan northern city still under Spanish rule.

The accident may have been caused by engine failure and strong winds.
