On the Syrian mediation between Kuwait, Iraq

The Jordanian weekly al-Hilal ( the Crescent) in its Tuesday's issue quoted Arab sources as saying that Kuwait has agreed to the principle of the Syrian mediation between it and Iraq and President Bashar al-Assad to be the channel for this mediation.

The paper noted that the " probable" visit to be held by President al-Assad to Baghdad is the actual and declared indicator on closing the file of dispute between Baghdad and Kuwait.

The sources added that the Iraqis see in the Syrian mediation an opportunity to build a wide alliance including Iran, Syria, Lebanon and Iraq and constitutes the strong belt in the face of Sharon and his schemes.
