Egypt condemns assassination of PFLP Chief

Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher condemned the assassination of Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) Secretary General Abu Ali Moustafa earlier on Monday.
Maher said the assassination is part of a series of crimes perpetrated by the Israeli forces against Palestinian leaderships in violation of all laws and conventions.
"This crime is an escalation of a very dangerous consequences that is characterized by Israeli practices and provocations that would further foment tension and instability and jeopardize the security of the people of the region," Maher said.
Maher referred, in particular, to Israel's use of F-16s, Apaches and missiles in committing its crimes.
He asked the whole world to denounce these crimes and prevent Israel from using weapons of destruction against civilians.
The Foreign Minister reiterated Egypt's backing to the Palestinian people's Intifada which aims at restoring their national rights and establishing their independent state to pave the way for the realization of just, lasting and stable peace in the region.
