On the assassination of Abu Ali Mustafa

Israeli US- made Apatchi helicopter's missiles on Monday killed the secretary general of the people's front for the Liberation of Palestine Abu Ali Mustafa.

The Palestinian people's front for the liberation of Palestine threatened to revenge the assassination of its secretary general and stressed continued resistance of the Israeli occupation.

Member of the Front's political bureau said that the front will escalate its military attacks on Israel, while the Palestinian Authority said that by killing Abu Ali Mustafa Israel has asserted that it has opened the door of a comprehensive war wide.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Palestinian Authority said that Israel had assassinated Mustafa using the green light ensured by the US administration by its clear support to Sharon's government and its refusal to provide international protection for the Palestinians people. A situation which pushes the region into the cycle of violence and blood.

The statement noted that this " brutal aggression was made at the decision of the Israeli government in the course of an Israeli scheme against the Palestinian people, their leadership and establishments to break their will and determination to challenge the aggression and realize the independent Palestinian state.

The Palestinian Authority also warned Israel against the grave consequences of this aggressive policy which threatens security and stability in the region as a whole.

Meantime the Palestinian information and culture minister at the Palestinian Authority Yasser Abd Rabbu stressed that this Israeli crime will cost it a dear heavy price. Both Hamas and the Islamic Jihad movements called for retaliating the killing of Abu Ali Mustafa and stressed the firm stand of all Palestinian people because the Israeli aggressions target all the Palestinians.

One of the Hamas leaders Abdul Aziz al-Ranteisi and Muhammad al-Hindi one of the Islamic Jihad leaders said that " resisting the aggression will continue and the answer to the Israeli assassination operation will be decisive." Meantime, and following the assassination of Abu Ali Mustafa various Palestinian areas witnessed strong clashes between the Palestinians and the Israeli forces.

In the West Bank, the Palestinian Intifada teenagers attacked a headquarters for the " Israeli border guards " in Toulkarem, while a Palestinian demonstration in al-Shallalah street and Bab al-Zaweyah in Hebron ( al-Khalil) in protest of killing Mustafa was converted into strong confrontations in which the Israeli forces used live bullets and poisonous gas to disperse the Palestinian demonstrators.

One israeli settler was killed in attack claimed by the people's front for the liberation of Palestine.

In Gaza, the Palestinian Intifada youths attacked by bombs several Israeli positions including Ghadit position and Tarnit position near the border with Egypt. They also attacked two other positions in Neve Kaleim and Ghar Oro and they Israeli authorities gave no mention to casualties.

The Israeli forces, on the other hand, arrested two members of the Fatah movement in Badick village, Nablus, one of them is the chairperson of the movement in the said village under the charges of resisting the occupation.

Meanwhile, in its emergency session held on Monday, the Israeli government stressed the continued policy of assassination and bombardment of the Palestinian security centers. The spokesman for the Israeli government Ra'naan Jesein said that the Israeli ministers agreed to continue their strategy aiming at striking the Palestinian establishments.

The Israeli daily " Maareve" said that Israel has decided to tighten its military aggression against the Palestinians.

In Paris, the French foreign ministry said that the assassination of Abu Ali Mustafa is a grave act. The spokesman for the ministry Francois Revaso stressed the assertion of the position of the European Union in condemning the policy of Israeli assassinations which target the Palestinian activists.

The French spokesman said that the continued confrontation is a horrible and it should be resorted to political means.
