Syrian- Turkish transport relations reviewed

The minister of transport Makram Obeid on Monday discussed with the Turkish minister of state Tonja Touskai and members of the accompanying delegation historical relations between the two countries and means of developing them in the service of joint interests especially in the area of transport and communications.

The two sides underlined the importance of developing cooperation in all fields of transport, air, land and sea and the need of ensuring facilities to transport commodities and personnel for the service of trade and economic interests in the two countries.

The two sides also discussed the possibility of signing a bilateral agreement in the field of sea transport, and increasing number of air flights between the two countries, facilitating the process of transporting Syrian goods through Turkey and the Turkish goods into Syria and means of fostering trade exchange between Syria and Turkey.
