Jordanian King's statements in Russia

The Jordanian king Abdullah II has warned from the continued deterioration of the situation in the Middle East region and described this situation as very grave.

In statements to the Russian " Etar Tass " on Monday on the sideline of his current visit to Moscow, the Jordanian King stressed the need of work to establish a just and comprehensive peace based on the implementation of international legitimacy resolutions, foremost being resolutions 242 and 338 and the land for peace formula.

The Jordanian King called for abrogating the sanctions imposed on Iraq which perpetuated the suffering of the Iraqi people. He stressed the need of closing this file and to work for the future under peace, stability and cooperation in the Arab Gulf area.

The Jordanian King expressed his appreciation for the balanced Russian position towards the Arab causes especially at the UN Security Council.
