British businessmen trust Egypt's economy

British ambassador in Cairo Graham Boyce in interview with AL-Ahrar highlighted his country's keenness on expanding political dialogue with Egypt stressing that there is no change in the British government's policy towards the Middle East region.

On the occasion of the end of his term of office, Boyce said that Britain is not adopting policy of silence towards Israel, on the contrary, it insists on Israeli submission to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty NPT and all the international charters.

The ambassador moreover said that British businessmen have confidence in Egypt's economic potentials on the long and medium run as Egypt is a very important country to investors and businessmen who can deal with a larger market such as the one in Egypt and the region.

He added that British investments in Egypt rose by 20 per cent during the past two years and this rate will continue due to the continuous campaigns that make investors acquainted with the Egyptian stable economy.

He stressed that British Prime Minister Tony Blair is keen on meeting with President Mubarak in the near future to continue their consultations.

He moreover said that there is currently an active political dialogue between Cairo and London in which the looter was interested in knowing the views of Egypt which plays an essential and strategic role in the Middle East.

Boyce expressed hope that foreign minister Ahmed Maher would visit London soon to continue dialogue between the two countries to cover all fields.
