No military buildup on the Sudanese- Eritrea forces
Sudan-Eritrea, Politics, 8/27/2001

The governor of Kasla Lt. Gen. Adam Hamid Moussa denied the existence of military build up on the Sudanese- Eritrea borders, stressing that the Eastern front is completely calm along the border strip.

In a statement he made in Khartoum on Sunday, Moussa added that Sudan and Eritrea surpassed the phase of tension.

However, the Sudanese paper al-Sahafi al-Dawli ( the international journalist) talked about military build up for both the rebel movement and the Sudanese opposition, positioned in Houdah district in Sudan, close to the border with Eritrea, to the east of Sudan.

The paper quoted well-informed sources that other forces from the rebel movement moved from the north of the Sudanese city of Hamishkorit towards the Red Sea province in an attempt to cut the route linking Port Sudan to Khartoum and to destroy oil pipelines in the area.
