Lebanese army denies UN team demarcation of borders at al-Ghajar town

The leadership of the Lebanese army on Saturday denied news stated by certain mass media on that a UN observers team held a demarcation for the international borders in al-Ghajar town, south Lebanon.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the army leadership stressed that the said team was holding a routine inspection tour to the line drawn by the UN in al-Abbaseyah, accompanied by Lebanese army officers to make sure that there are no violations for the said line.

Similarly, the spokesman for UNIFIL Timor Goksil stressed that the UN forces did not make any amendment nor correction in al-Ghajar village to the blue line drawn by the UN between Lebanon and Israel, and thereby denying what was stated about a " slight correction" for the interests of Israel.
