Intifada exhausts Israeli police
Israel-Palestine, Politics, 8/25/2001
Deputy head of Israeli police in Jerusalem, Elav Franco said that the state of emergency declared since the eruption of the Intifada is exhausting the Israeli police due to the attacks carried out against Israel. In this stage, it is crystal clear that our powers are whacked and we need large numbers of additional policemen as well as resources, Franco remarked.
On the other hand, Israeli police spokesman, Shmulik Bin Robby referred the day before to the complaints of frequent Palestinian attacks against Jewish settlements in Jerusalem.
