Egypt, 181 states assess achievements in maintaining child's rights
Egypt, Culture, 8/25/2001
Ambassador Mushira Khattab Secretary-General of the National Council for Children and Motherhood stressed the significance of the agreement on child's rights.
She said that the following days would witness the special session of UN General Assembly on children that would assess the achievements realized by 181 states that had inked the international agreements on child's rights in 1989.
Highlighting the role played by the political leadership in Egypt in backing the Egyptian child's rights, Khattab said that child's rights had been maintained through drawing up the first document on a child's decade in 1989/99, establishing the council to coordinate between parties concerned, and laying down the five-year plan on the Egyptian child's future.
