Mubarak to receive sultan Qaboos and meet with university students

In the framework of consultations and contacts by Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak at the Arab and world levels for saving the peace process and putting an end to violence in occupied Palestinian territories, President Mubarak will receive on Monday Sultan Qaboos Bin Said of Oman in Sharm E1 Sheikh on his first leg of a tour that will take him to Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
Talks between President Mubarak and Qaboos will deal with developments in the region in the light of the latest Israeli escalation in Palestinian territories and ways of providing international protection for the Palestinians.
The two leaders will also discuss ways of boosting bilateral relations at the economic and commercial levels after the volume of trade between the two states has reached a good level.
On the other hand, the Middle East issues will top the expected open dialogue between President Mubarak and university youths.
In his dialogue with students, the President will answer their questions on pressing national action issues, measures taken by the government for organizing foreign exchange market and provision of job opportunities for youth as well as ME crisis.
Al-Ahram learnt that the government will work out a number of this papers which will be raised during the President's meeting with the government next month.
These papers deal with economic performance, status of the foreign exchange free market, provision of job opportunities for youth and progress in the implementation of mega projects.
On his part, Prime Minister Atef Ebeid holds a number of meetings with exporters of commodities and services and tourists agents for launching program for increasing foreign exchange resources which depends on many sectors mainly the reports show that this sector could provide foreign exchange along with remittances by Egyptians working abroad and services of harbors, airports and regional storing zones.
This program depends on opening new markets exporting tourists to Egypt and developing tourist infrastructures, entering into alliances with world marketing companies, rehabilitation of the Egyptian labor abroad, reviewing achievements in new harbors and developing big harbors.
The Program for increasing foreign exchange resources depends on maximizing remittances by the Egyptian working abroad where new facilities have been provided for maximizing these remittances.
Prime Minister Atef Ebeid next Tuesday continues his meetings with economic ministerial group for following up status of the foreign exchange free market in the fourth week after applying the new dollar exchange rate... the Prime Minister will discuss ways of enhancing the role of t he banking system in increasing investments in Egypt, extending facilities to private sector for establishing new projects in order to push forward economic performance and to provide new job opportunities for youth.
The prime minister will continue his visits to banks to review the progress of work under the new foreign exchange system.
