Palestinian scouts in summer camp in Morocco
Morocco-Palestine, Culture, 8/24/2001

A delegation of Palestinian scouts is currently participating in a summer camp, organized by the Moroccan national scout Federation, August 21 through September 8.

The summer camp, named Mohamed Dorra, provides opportunity to consolidate solidarity ties between the Moroccan and Palestinian people through the scout movement and aims at promoting the culture of peace in the world, a statement by the federation, said.

Last June, Moroccan Scouts staged an internet campaign on the protection of Palestinian children, at the initiative of the Moroccan scout federation.

The campaign was meant "to foster awareness on the plight of the Palestinian children and to unveil the barbarous practices of the Israeli occupying forces."

Hundreds of Palestinian children were killed by the Israeli occupying forces since the Al-Aqsa intifada flared up last September.
