Some 14 persons killed in the 'empty quarter' desert

The citizen of al-Kharkhir city on the Saudi- Yemeni borders said that 50 cars last Saturday went to the desert provided with waters and fuel in search of 14 persons who died in the " Empty quarter" desert in their way from Yemen to Saudi Arabia.

The London- based al-Sharq al-Awsat said that after searching lasted for 12 hours in these cars which are fully equipped with loudspeakers, the bodies of the victims were found in their car in Sheqat al-Badee area in the desert. Just 120 Km from Thamoud area in Hadramout, and 50 Km to the nearest center of border in the Saudi side of the border.

One man of the rescue team said that all the dead were buried at the same place where the bodies were found by the citizens of al-Kharkhir city and tribes of the " empty quarter."

Among the victims were two women from one family composed of nine persons and other persons who were riding one car, all dead.
